Internet nos ha abierto muchas puertas, entre ellas, a la educación. Sin embargo, muchas veces se presta para dar información errada o incompleta, es por ello que Google se suma a la cantidad de opciones en línea que hay para capacitarse en nuevos temas, lanzando su primer curso online a través de Google Cloud Platform.
Fundamentos de Big Data y Machine Learning de Google Cloud Plataform, es una plataforma dedicada a la educación virtual que se basa en buscar la formación de especialistas en temas como habilidades tecnológicas necesarias para trabajos del futuro y del presente. En ella se pueden encontrar cursos tanto gratuitos como pagos dictados por profesionales de reconocidas universidades del mundo. Se pueden encontrar cursos sobre ciencias de la computación, ingeniería, matemáticas, ciencias sociales, negocios y demás.
“Este curso está destinado a analistas de datos, científicos de datos y analistas de negocios. También sirve para responsables en la toma de decisiones en Tecnologías de la Información que evalúan Google Cloud para científicos de datos”.
¿Qué incluirá el curso?
El curso es completamente gratuito y es de solo una semana de duración. De ella solamente es necesario gastar entre 6 y 10 horas para completarlo. Será dictado en inglés, pero tendrá subtítulos en español y japonés. Es necesaria al menos una cuenta de prueba en Google Cloud Platform.
Se enseñarán conceptos como:
- Extraer, cargar, transformar, limpiar y validar datos para utilizar en análisis.
- Diseñar fuentes y estructuras para procesamiento de datos.
- Creación y mantenimiento de machine learning (aprendizaje automático) y modelos estadísticos.
- Consultar conjuntos de datos, visualizar resultados de consultas y crear informes.
Hay que aclarar que, si bien se puede completar el curso gratuitamente, se requiere un pago para tener su certificado. Este tiene un valor de 59 dólares, pero si este costo le parece muy alto, puede aspirar a la ayuda financiera que proporciona Coursera. Debajo del botón para inscribirse, se encuentra “apply for financial aid”. Todo lo que tendrá que hacer es responder un formulario.
El programa está alojado en la plataforma de Coursera, y esta es solo la primera parte de cinco cursos que ofrece el programa especializado de Google Cloud en ingeniería de datos.
